Young Families

Do you have a child under 12-years-old? We would love it if your family became involved with PJ Library!

PJ Library sends free high-quality Jewish children’s books to families every month. These stories spark conversations that inspire the whole family to explore and celebrate what they love about Jewish life.

The program was created by the nonprofit Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) in keeping with its mission to help people connect to Jewish values, traditions, and culture while building vibrant Jewish communities. The Jewish Federation of Edmonton partners with the HGF to fund PJ Library and make it available in our community.

In Edmonton, we host both the PJ Library (newborn to eight-year-olds) and PJ Our Way (nine to 12-year-olds) programs so families in our community can connect with each other.  We know that building community is essential to well-being and Jewish identity development. The programs are a fun and interactive way for families to connect and build relationships with Jewish values at the core.

At PJ Library Edmonton, we cherish the tradition of celebrating Jewish holidays, often collaborating with local partners. Our programs feature a mix of holiday events and engaging Jewish-themed activities curated especially for our PJ Library readers. While PJ Library subscriptions are free, some programs may include a nominal fee to help cover operational costs.

Contact Jenn Magalnick for more information about PJ Library and PJ Our Way.

Meet Mira Campbell - PJ Programmer

"I am excited to be the PJ/PJ Our Way programmer with the Jewish Federation of Edmonton. I have close to 25 years of experience as an early childhood educator, and have been immersed in our Jewish community for 14 years at the Talmud Torah Early Learning Centre, as a lead educator. I love seeing my former preschool students at PJ programs, and to have the opportunity to continue to flourish and strengthen my relationships with all Jewish Edmonton families."
