Report antisemitism

How to report an antisemitism incident or a hate crime

It is important to communicate any acts of antisemitism that you have experienced to measure and combat antisemitism in Canada. Only report incidents that you have personally encountered in order to ensure the credibility of the reporting.

If a life in danger, physical violence, threat of violence, or vandalism to a Jewish institution, call 911, get a file number for your police report, this step dispatches an officer.

Report to Federation

Report to Federation by using this antisemitic incident reporting tool.

Please take any photos/videos of the incident and send them to antisemitism@edjfed.org. Please try to send photos in JPEG or PNG format.

Report to Police

Please report to police. The Edmonton Police Service Online Reporting allows you to submit a hate motivated incident report immediately.

Click on "Report a Hate Motivated Incident here."

Graffiti

If you see hateful graffiti or non-urgent antisemitic crime or incident, please call the non-emergency line of #377 and report the non-emergency at 780-423-4567, get a file number, this will dispatch an officer if available.

Please provide the file number to antisemitism@edjfed.org and wait until Edmonton Police Services (EPS) contacts you before calling #311 for graffiti clean up. Call graffiti clean up only after you are certain that an officer was dispatched to the scene of the graffiti.

Note, graffiti clean up only applies to public property, if the graffiti is on private property, the property owner needs to call it in and pay for clean up. Provide your graffiti clean up file number to antisemitism@edjfed.org.

Note, when reporting hateful graffiti be sure to mention that it is hateful and offensive to ensure faster clean up by the city.

Note, using the #311 app is the fastest way to report graffiti for clean up and provides the user with a follow up.
