The Israel Pavilion, hosted by Jewish Federation of Edmonton, has welcomed visitors for close to three decades. It is one of over 60 pavilions at the Edmonton Heritage Festival, North America’s largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism, held every August. This festival shares food, art, music, dance and stories from cultures around the world.
Have you ever danced to live Israeli music or tasted malabi on a summer afternoon? Each year, the pavilion offers a rich cultural experience, including tasty Israeli dishes and performances by local dance groups.
The pavilion offers a space where culture, education, and community connection meet. It reflects generations of tradition and welcomes engagement in learning and celebration.
The culture is showcased through a story wall presenting moments from Israel’s past and present. See and learn about Israel you may not know about through huge photo canvases and hands-on activities like our archaeology dig for children. Guests can also shop at a market curated from Israeli products.
We're looking for volunteers to help set up the Israel Pavilion and for shifts during the Heritage Festival in the kitchen, explaining the culture to visitors, and selling merchandise.
