The Edmonton Jewish Community Charitable Foundation (EJCCF) helps people make a lasting difference by supporting the Jewish causes that reflect their values in perpetuity and that ensures the long-term financial security of the Jewish community. We partner with donors and fund holders to generate the resources to make these visions a reality.
Reflecting on the areas of interest about which you are most passionate is where we start. From there, we work closely with you to assist you in realizing your philanthropic vision. You will find a variety of options available that will ensure the impact you create is both meaningful and long lasting. We will help you make the most effective and impactful use of your assets while maximizing your tax savings.
You don’t need to be wealthy or change your lifestyle to take part. You can start a new fund or contribute to your existing fund in several ways:
- A gift of cash or appreciated assets like stocks, bonds, or life insurance policies.
- A bequest as part of your will is often the easiest way to make a gift. You simply state in your will a dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to be used for an endowment.
- A gift of a new or existing life insurance policy. By designating the Foundation as owner and beneficiary, you may deduct the premiums from your taxes.
- Pension plans are subject to significant tax liability, making them ideal instruments to use, in whole or in part, to create a fund naming the Foundation as the beneficiary.
- A Charitable Remainder Trust or Charitable Gift Annuity provides you with income during your lifetime and thereafter, and the rest is used to establish the endowment.

The foundation was established in 1966 as an initiative of the Edmonton Jewish Community Council (now Jewish Federation of Edmonton). The funds have been held at the Edmonton Community Foundation since 2019.
