Come join us for a discussion of Jewish Studies at the University of Alberta. Dr. Sabo will be summarizing the current course offerings and future course possibilities. After this, he will focus on one specific course, providing a synopsis of the class on the Second Temple Period. This time period is a vitally important one in Jewish history in which Jews interacted with several different cultures and empires (most notably the Greeks and the Romans), developed many interesting sects (like the Essenes), and wrote and compiled a wide variety of literature (like the Dead Sea Scrolls).
