Descendants of Expulsion: Communities Descended from Exiles from Spain and Portugal
Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
August 1, 8 & 15 via Zoom
The Jewish communities of Siam and Portugal were decimated, expelled, and forcibly converted between 1390 and 1497. Their descendants live across the globe, some openly as Sephardim and others hidden as conversos (Secret Jews). This three-class series will examine the surprising places these Jews can be found.
Rabbi David Kunin graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Medieval History and then attended the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he was ordained as a Rabbi and received an MA in Judaic Studies.
Fee: $45 per series
