Beth Tzedek's annual movie/lecture series will resume again this fall on Sunday, November 17th at 1:00 pm. Our movie is "Nicky's Family". "Nicky's Family" is an award-winning 2011 Czech documentary film directed by Matej Minacis. It is a documentary that tells the mostly unknown story of Sir Nicholas Winton, a young Englishman who organized the rescue of 669 Jewish Czech and Slovak children just before the outbreak of World War II. As a result of his heroic efforts, today there are over 6,000 descendants who live all over the world. Our guest speaker is Prof. Nina Paulovicova from the University of Alberta who will present the film and then lead a discussion forum upon its completion. The movie will be held in the Chapel Room at the Talmud Torah. It is free, refreshments will be provided, and is open to the entire Jewish community as well as the larger non-Jewish community.
